Reviews

Hi Florian, It has always been my greatest wish. Finally, you have made me the finest guitar I will ever play! It has a tone and sustain like no other guitar and it plays like a dream. It resembles your absolute passion and precise craftmanship. I am truly inspired by the design and sound of this guitar."
„Flo Pertsch is a beautiful human who makes beautiful guitars. I’m lucky enough to own one of his exquisitely crafted instruments. Like its namesake, the Rhein model has great depth and dramatic curves. A guitar that’s as enjoyable to look at as it is to listen to and play. Extremely comfortable to play sitting down or standing, an amazing workhorse for the studio and the stage."

„I’d seen Florian Pertsch’s guitars on Instagram for some time and was immediately drawn to the design and build quality that was evident. I eventually decided to have him build my dream guitar, he was meticulous in making sure I got what I needed to make the sound that I wanted. Every step of the way; asking me about my music and playing style and making sure that the tone wood selection and build were perfectly matched to what I needed. We eventually decided on a 14 Fret Rhen model with a cedar top, walnut back and sides, a maple neck and a bog oak fretboard and bridge, plus some nice decorative additions, including a custom designed 12th fret maker. I had the pleasure of traveling to Germany to pick up the guitar and meet this amazing Luthier in his beautiful workshop in Worms, Germany. Not only does he build world class instruments, but he is also a consummate gentleman with a wonderful young family. I am pleased to include him in my circle of friends! The result is better than I could ever dream of. The guitar is visually stunning and the playability, tone and sustain are amazing fitting my playing style and writing perfectly. I get compliments whenever I take it out in public and love it so much that I’ve commissioned a second guitar!"

„When Flo contacted me to let me know he had a free slot to build my guitar, I did not know what a great experience it would be. Starting with the conception phase, where Flo and I had extensive phone calls and WhatsApp photo exchanges, in- and through which he lead me through all the preliminary steps necessary for him to build exactly the instrument that would fit me and my playing style. I had little to no idea what I wanted, other than an awesome guitar, so Flo helped me sort out what he would consider to be the best options for me ,all the while giving me detailed insights into his building style and philosophy. All of this has cumulated in a truly beautiful sounding and stunningly looking instrument that will accompany me for the rest of my musical journey. I am very grateful to be playing such a wonderful instrument."

Binding Work

I like to combine tradition and modernity. Therefore some of my work steps are are centuries old. For example, one of them would be gluing the binding with a rope. After the routings for the bindings and the purfling are made with the help of a router the glue is applied and a rope is looped [...]

Paperwork

Almost every acoustic guitar has it - the builder's label inside the body. There you have the opportunity to get creative with your logo, serial number and so on. I like to compare it with a label on a wine bottle - really little space to give the customer a brief outline of the whole [...]

Rhine Shell Inlay

It is a special attraction for me to capture my environment in a certain way in my guitars. An important position in this respect takes the option to decorate the guitars with inlays. Since I have been living on the Rhine for a few years now, it was obvious to me to use the shells I find in the river [...]

I prefer to blend modernism with tradition. Thus, some of my steps date back hundreds of years. One such method would be to use a rope to coil the edges. After using a specific router jig to cut the trench for the curving edge [...]

Within the body of almost every acoustic guitar is a note from the maker. You have the opportunity to let some steam off and immortalize yourself there, on a small area. I like to compare it to a wine bottle label since [...]

To me, there is a distinct appeal in being able to accurately express my surroundings through my instruments. The decision to embellish guitars with inlays holds a unique place in this regard. And not with some imported abalone shell [...]
